Aluminum ladder itself is of good quality, having higher weight capacity (350lb) than most available. Wood frame is constructed of poor quality lumber that is stapled together. Frame was also badly out of square. The piano hinge is attached to this frame using pop-rivets, as is the ladder assembly and thin plywood door. I contacted Louisville Ladder's customer service and was told by "Jack" the represenative that this meets their OSHA and Ansi standards and that it was acceptable. Due to the costs of return and reshipping, and lack of better alternative ladders I rebuilt the frame using quality materials and replaced or reinforced almost every component during the installation. I would recommend considering a ladder from Rainbow (steel telescoping), or Bessler(folding staircase) before buying a Louisville attic ladder.
